This will give you the CVs you can then program using your DCC system to achieve the same results. It is always best to open the sound file that is used on the decoder so that you see it populated with the actual names of the sound slots.

You can make changes in the software and then use the "Show Changed CVs" option in the Tools menu. As a side note.you can download the LokProgrammer software and use it without having the LokProgrammer hardware.

The Version 5 adds a lot more levels of indexing so you really do want to be careful. The individual sound volumes do require an index to be set first. You do not need to set any Index CVs first. To answer the original poster's question CV63 is the Master Volume and it has a range from 0-192.

If they come out with an update you have to buy a new decoder. You can't update or modify SoundTraxx decoders. Which by the way is the main reason I use ESU decoders exclusively. The LokProgrammer is only truly needed if you're doing a complete sound file re-write or firmware update to the decoder. Get it out of your heads that you NEED a LokProgrammer for ESU decoders just to change CVs! While it makes life easier, you absolutely can do it with your DCC system. You can change ALL of the CV parameters with LokSound decoders the exact same way as you can with SoundTraxx or any other sound decocder.with your DCC system of choice. Scheduled for release prior to LokSound version 5 becoming available, that may be the reason it is not equipped I am making an assumption that because this model engine was announced a few years back and was I am not at home now, so I cant try that out til later this afternoon. Rapido engines, or should changes to Atlas engine volumes also require setting CV32 to 1? I looked through a Rapido ManualĪnd it states that to change a volume, CV32 needs to be set to 1.

I have torn my place apart looking for my LokSound manual to no avail.

This is version 4.7 My test track is NCE Power Cab (w/ programming track) Atlas Literature provided with the engine claims that the master volume is set to 192 (default value). Power Mixer is available at for free evaluation. It's just a Volume Control utility that does what Microsoft's 'in-house' utility should have been doing in the first place. The program does not require any knowledge of PC, music theory or acoustics. Users have an option to hide or display all devices connected. While Power Mixer 1.1 is certainly not a "grandma-and-grandpa" type of utility, it's nevertheless extremely simple and intuitive. Since the program supports presets, which are a set of volume control settings templates, Power Mixer 1.1 is easily adjusted for the best auditory experience when listening to music, watching DVDs or playing games. Power Mixer 1.1 offers quite a lot of advanced features, like viewing all volume levels real-time, the choice of recording devices and controls for them, or the option to share program settings for all users (individual user settings available as well). But the most impressive feature is a capability to change volume level by simply rotating the mouse wheel or pressing a set of designated hotkeys. Power Mixer 1.1, as the name implies, comes with own mixer and features scheduler, On Screen Display, command line support and an unlimited number of 'presets'. Sadly, the built-in Volume Control solution from Microsoft is far from perfect and as more people use their PCs for listening to music and watching movies, the need for a dependable and straightforward Volume Control utility becomes apparent. Power Mixer 1.1 is a brain-dead simple but very progressive Volume Control replacement utility for Windows.
