I enjoyed it.Meat-eaters in Charlotte will fall in love with Mac's Speed Shop ? this barbecue joint is a tasty destination for Charlotte residents. My visit, however, showed me exactly whey they have received so much praise and recognition. Often when places get as much recognition as Mac’s, the quality drops off. The pork, chicken and everything else was done well and the Pork Wings (from the shank…not the wings) pictured below were good and something you do not often see.
The brisket is certainly worth trying and I also really enjoyed the ribs and beef sausage. The two are so different that they shouldn’t really even be compared. I could eat Mac’s brisket anytime, but it is very different from the traditional salt and pepper rubbed, thinly sliced traditional Texas brisket. Rick Browne claimed that the brisket at Mac’s was the best he had ever had. Mac’s has received a ton of press and recognition from national and local sources alike. Bike night happens once a week and live music can be found at least three nights a week.
